Bolton Rotary's Haunted Hill 5k &10k, October 30th
Great first time event, 400 participants!!!  Yes there is
a very  big  hill in Bolton,  and yes it is on  the day before
Halloween, and yes there is a cemetery involved, and yes
there were lots of scary costumes.

CIBC Run for the Cure 5K, Guelph - October 2nd
CIBC reports 30 million dollars raised - Canada wide!  This event runs in dozens
of cities throughout Canada to raise money for breast cancer research. Steve
Cameron and the Dufferin Tornadoes raised $531.

Hopscotch 4 Hope, October 1st
New fund raising event for children - by children.  Looked to set
a Guiness record for longest hopscotch course.  Also included a
5.5 km timed run.  In pretty Eden Mills, near Rockwood.

Mono Cliffs Trail Run, September 10th
Sorry, but this event was cancelled. Look for a Mono Cliffs Trail Run in 2012

Makin' Memories 5K, 10K Run Walk - September 11th
The second annual took place on the Cataract - Elora Rail
Trail in Erin.  A beautiful day for running.  Best times for the
5K  were Wil Queiros of Orangeville in 19:58 and Shannon
Grist of Orton in 28:40.  Best times for 10K were Rob Tolman of Erin in 38:58 and 3 gals
crossed together at 54:08.  Sixty two runners and 48 walkers completed the event.  Run
Dufferin was there helping out.  Results are at  RRResults.com.  Lots of fun for kids included
free kids fun run. BBQ compliments of the Optimist's Club. Proceeds benefit The Alzheimer
Society.

Ferguson Fall Fair Classic 5K, September 5th
The second annual Ferguson Fall Fair Classic 5 K Walk/Run took place with over 170
participating. Despite cool, wet weather the race was very competitive with some of Ontario’s
top runners in attendance.  Fernando Carvalho of Bradford won the race in 18:01. Top female
competitor, Kataryn Sullivan of Orangeville, crossed in 22:32. Alexander Maycock, age 12 of
Orangeville, was fastest runner under 19 with an incredible time of 20:13 placing him fifth
fastest overall. John Clarke was fastest Masters runner and 4th overall with a time of 18:38.  
Mayor Laura Ryan, of the Town of Mono, presented the awards.
